We appreciate your interest in baptism at Montgomery Community Church (MCC). Listed below is a brief overview of the process. If you are interested in being baptized at MCC, please take time to fill out the Request for Baptism form and you will be contacted with additional information.
As Baptists, we practice Believers' Baptism and believe that only faith can offer salvation (For Infants, we offer Baby Dedications).
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9 )
When we come to Christ, God places us in Himself. We share in His death, His burial, and His resurrection to new life in Christ. Baptism provides a picture of the transformation that has already taken place when we put our faith in Him.
“Don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ were baptized
into His death? We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into
death in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory
of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:3-4 )
The Baptism Process at MCC
Baptism Class & Testimony
Each person seeking baptism at MCC will be asked to attend a Baptism Class taught by an MCC Pastor the Wednesday evening before the Sunday baptism. Each person will be asked to share their Spiritual Journey, their unique experience of faith in Jesus Christ and how He has changed their life).
Baptism Services
Our baptism services are held 5 times each year as a part of weekly worship services. (Saturdays 5:30, Sundays 8:30 am, 10:00 am, 11:30 am). We make every effort to meet preferences for baptism dates, times, and choice of pastor, but the number of baptisms in each service is limited and pastors are not always available. The deadline for requesting baptism is Monday noon before the Sunday baptism. Upcoming dates are listed on the registration form.
Baptism & Membership
Being baptized does not automatically make you a member of Montgomery Community Church.
